Red, as a color, inherently carries dual meanings. It symbolizes both violence and passion, danger and love, ferocity and sweetness. In this installation, the Shuriken represents the intense, powerful side of red, while the strawberries and cream encapsulate its sweet, tender aspect. By uniting these opposing elements, the installation illustrates the complexity and depth of the color red, showcasing its ability to convey a wide range of emotions and sensations.
The choice of Shuriken structure to present the theme of sweetness highlights the unexpected harmony that can exist between seemingly disparate concepts. Just as a strawberry’s sweet taste is encased within its vibrant red skin, the installation suggests that sweetness can be found even within strength and intensity. This contrast invites viewers to reconsider their preconceived notions about what sweetness can be and where it can be found.
