The Red Party III

"What does red taste like?"

2024
This project explores the concept of "What does red taste like?" by merging color, form, and sensory symbolism. The piece employs vibrant red beads and delicate, translucent acrylic to evoke the richness and sweetness often associated with the color red. The structured layers and beading create a sense of opulence and indulgence, reminiscent of a cake adorned with intricate decorations. The choice of acrylic, with its glossy and reflective qualities, suggests a certain delicacy and playfulness, inviting viewers to imagine the taste and feel of the color.

The internal lighting transforms the piece, giving it a sense of warmth and depth that amplifies the associations of red with passion, sweetness, and energy.Enhances the idea that color, taste, and texture can evoke a shared sensory experience, inviting viewers to imagine what this glowing red "cake" might taste or feel like if it were real.

The installation contrasts the hardness and clarity of acrylic with the softness implied by the cake form, capturing a tactile interplay between visual sharpness and the concept of sweetness.Red, often associated with sweetness, ripeness, and intensity, is used here to invite a multisensory exploration—encouraging viewers to envision the taste of red and to consider how color can influence our perceptions of flavor and texture.
